Pricing FAQ
Is it really free to list resources?
Yes. Listing any resource — compound libraries, negative datasets, synthesis outflows, equipment time — is always free. We only charge a platform fee when a fee-based transaction is completed.
What counts as a "fee-based transaction"?
Any exchange where money changes hands between the listing party and the requesting party. IP trades, data exchanges, product shares, and open access listings are never subject to platform fees.
How is the platform fee calculated?
The fee is a percentage of the agreed transaction value between the two parties. For example, a $5,000 compound library access on the Open Science plan would incur a $250 platform fee (5%). Partner plan users pay $125 (2.5%). Enterprise users pay $0.
Can I negotiate consulting rates?
Project-based and retainer engagements are always scoped and priced upfront. Hourly rates reflect senior expertise and are not typically negotiated, but we offer significant discounts for retainer clients and multi-project engagements.
What if I'm an academic lab with no budget?
The Open Science plan is free forever. You can list resources, post requests, access open datasets, and submit collaboration proposals at no cost. We believe open science should be accessible regardless of budget.
How do I upgrade from Open Science to Partner?
Book a discovery call and we'll walk you through the upgrade. Partner plans are billed monthly with no long-term commitment required.
